How To Cook a Lamb - Chestnut Lamb Pot

Ingredient : Mutton 640g, chestnut 320g, carrot and turnip one, cinnamon, star anise (this is a Chinese spice, you can find this in China town), red chilli, ginger, soy sauce, oyster sauce, chicken stock (if you want), sugar and salt.

How To Cook a Lamb – Procedures :

  • Chop the mutton into pieces, put it in the cold water for awhile, take out and press them to squeeze out the water
  • Chop the carrot and turnip into small cube pieces.
  • Put half of the carrot and turnip into the put, add water and boil the water.
  • When the water is boiled, add in the mutton and cook for 15 minutes.
  • Take out the mutton, put it into cold water again and press them to squeeze out the water again. Throw away the carrot and turnip.
  • Fry the ginger together with the mutton. Add in red chili, cinnamon and anise star. Then, add in soy sauce, oyster sauce, some sugar and salt. You can add in some wine if you want. I mean the wine used in cooking Chinese cuisine J
  • Cook for about an hour.
  • Then, add in the carrot, turnip and chestnut. Cook until the chestnut softens.
  • Now ready to eat!
